About Bill
Drawing from a colorful and robust 29-year career with the U.S. Navy and an additional ten years in the credit information industry, speaker and coach Bill Hickman uses his trademarked concepts to teach corporate audiences across the country how easy it is to Simplify Leadership. 
A Navy Mustang (an enlisted sailor who became an officer), Bill created his own opportunities in the Navy and was able to rise to command a US Navy ship and attain the rank of Captain. By taking the hard road to becoming an officer Bill developed his own very personal style of leadership which was to simplify.
“Leaders are bombarded with complex information, multiple theories and ideas for problem solving. It is tempting to over think issues and get stuck – that’s often when things REALLY begin to go wrong,” explains Bill. “Clients tell me that they know there is a problem – they know they can perform better – but that they feel a little lost.”
Bill’s unique presentations – designed especially for corporate audiences – help people and teams get unstuck. A natural born story teller, Bill uses his many tales from the seven seas to help illustrate his main message of Simplifying Leadership. He challenges audiences to reclaim the core center of their business by getting them to think about the relationship they have with the center of their business universe – the people who work for them. “It is intensely personal and critically important,” he explains.
This unusually practical, common sense approach, allows Bill to help, coach, and mentor people at all levels. He is passionate about leadership. Throughout his career he has shared his passion with individuals and groups as he has successfully developed and mentored leaders in organizations large and small.

Following his experience as a sailor and officer in the US Navy, Bill entered corporate life and served in a variety of leadership and executive positions for:
- Equifax, Inc (Senior Vice President, Governance Officer, Vice President Process Management, and Divisional Chief Information Officer/Vice President Technology),
- Experian (Director Strategic Solutions),
- CCN, Inc. (Vice President Process Management and Assistant Vice President Software Delivery)
all of which give him an uncommonly broad perspective.
As a speaker and trainer, Bill routinely works with the American Management Association, Right Path Resources, Matrix Resources and the Goizueta Business School of Emory University in Atlanta.
Bill holds degrees in Literature & History, and advanced degrees in Political Science and Strategy.
